Thoughts for a Sunday afternoon

In the words of my favorite LDS hymn "I believe in Christ, so come what may" (Hymn #134) This is my motto.
We had a wonderful Stake Conference today. The person who inspired me the most was a counselor in the Stake Presidency who is battling Leukemia and is waiting for a bone marrow transplant. He had to wear gloves and a mask and he only came for his time to speak. At the end one man stood up as he was exiting and it caused many more to stand. I think he deserved that.
Here's a link to his blog.

*Thoughts for a Sunday afternoon will be something new I will try and do to share my thoughts and testimony.

I can't wait for May

I have planned a weekend getaway for my little family and my Mom to Midway Utah. We will be staying at the Zermatt Resort over Memorial weekend. A friend of mine has family that owns a couple of condos/rooms up there. I have been offered to go stay up there before but have never taken the opportunity until now.   When I asked how much it would cost to stay up there they responded to me saying...FREE! If you know much about this place I bet it costs an arm and a leg per night to stay there. I love friends who are so good to me!!! We just have to buy food. So we will be staying in a 3 bedroom condo with a kitchen and accessories. My mom never gets out so we are taking her up there to get away!

That weekend just so happens to be when Thomas the train is there at the Heber Valley Railroad. Ben will love it! We are going to go ride it.

This is why I love staying @home

Can I just say that I love staying home with these two? Not that everyday is picture perfect with these two, especially the eldest. Speaking of him he has gone one whole week without # 1 accident. He is making it to the potty in time and is staying dry at night. Now # 2 is a BIG issue. He went on the floor on Monday. He is afraid of going # 2 on the potty. I mean it's pretty bad, not sure why he has a fear of even going in his pull-up. Oh well we shall move forward and take it one day at a time.
Hannah got shots yesterday poor girl, but she is a trooper pooper.

Charles Dickens-Bleak House

I just finished reading Charles Dickens Bleak House. I first saw the BBC production of it on PBS nearly 3 years ago and loved it. Here is a description of the book.

Opening in the swirling mists of London, the novel revolves around a court case that has dragged on for decades—the infamous Jarndyce and Jarndyce lawsuit, in which an inheritance is gradually devoured by legal costs. As Dickens takes us through the case’s history, he presents a cast of characters as idiosyncratic and memorable as any he ever created, including the beautiful Lady Dedlock, who hides a shocking secret about an illegitimate child and a long-lost love; Mr. Bucket, one of the first detectives to appear in English fiction; and the hilarious Mrs. Jellyby, whose endless philanthropy has left her utterly unconcerned about her own family.

As a question of inheritance becomes a question of murder, the novel’s heroine, Esther Summerson, struggles to discover the truth about her birth and her unknown mother’s tragic life. Can the resilience of her love transform a bleak house? And—more devastatingly—will justice prevail?

Matthew and I bought the movie this month and have already watched it. It is my favorite movie right now of this genre. I can't wait to watch it again. I recommend the book and movie. The acting in the movie is wonderful! I love all the characters!

My next book to read is John Adams by David McCullough.
